A Passionate Beginning

The journey of Kinekt began in the small town of Bellingham in the Pacific Northwest. Paul Barkley, a dedicated cyclist, frame builder, and bike shop owner, embarked on a mission to transform bike comfort. During his first Peace Corps tour in Uganda, he faced harsh road conditions that inspired him to find a solution for smoother rides. His initial prototype led to the creation of the Kinekt Isolation seatpost, which was tested during his second tour and proved to significantly reduce the discomfort caused by rough terrain. This innovation laid the foundation for Cirrus Cycles, Inc., founded in 2010.

Years of Innovation and Growth

After extensive development and testing, Kinekt's Active Suspension Seatpost received a patent in 2014. Over the past decade, the company has sold tens of thousands of these award-winning seatposts and introduced the Active Suspension Stem in 2020. Kinekt's commitment to enhancing cycling comfort and safety remains strong, supported by a new facility and a dedicated team of over 20 employees. The move to a larger facility underscores the brand’s growth and ability to meet increasing demand for its products.
